Accra, Nov. 6, 2025

The organisers of the Experience Volta in Accra Festival, a flagship cultural event slated for December 13, 2025, under the Ghana Tourism Authority’s “December in GH” programme, have paid a courtesy call on a Member of the Volta Regional Representative on Council of State, Hon. Gabriel Kwamiga Atokple, at his office in Accra.

The visit, led by Mr Eric Seyram Agbolosu, Chief Executive Officer of Ewevi Multimedia and Ewe24 TV, was to formally invite Hon. Atokple to serve on the Council of Patrons of the festival alongside Torgbui Amenya Fiti Adzongaga V, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area. The delegation also included Zikpuitor Agbolosu, Torgbui Honu, a traditional priest from Aflao, and Torgbui Anokye from Weta.

During the meeting, Mr Agbolosu commended Hon. Atokple for his commitment to youth empowerment, regional development, and the preservation of Ewe heritage. He explained that the Experience Volta in Accra Festival is envisioned as a platform to showcase the unique culture, creativity, and entrepreneurial energy of the Volta Region while fostering socio-economic growth through arts, tourism, and cultural exchange.

He appealed to the Council of State member to serve as a guiding pillar for the festival, providing mentorship and strategic direction to ensure its continuity and measurable impact on the Volta economy.

In his remarks, Hon. Gabriel Kwamiga Atokple described the initiative as a timely and commendable effort that underscores the importance of unity and cultural pride in national development. He expressed deep appreciation for the organisers’ vision, stating that the festival would not only project the richness of Eweland’s traditions but also strengthen social cohesion and stimulate investment opportunities in the region.

Hon. Atokple called for stronger collaboration among traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and the youth, stating that collective effort remains the bedrock of sustainable progress.

“When the people of Volta stand together with one voice, we can achieve remarkable transformation in culture, commerce, and community development,” he stated.

The Council of State member also pledged his personal and institutional support, announcing that his Tanko Foundation would partner with the organising committee to facilitate resource mobilisation and community outreach towards the festival’s success.

The Experience Volta in Accra Festival forms part of the national December in GH celebrations and aims to bridge the cultural gap between Accra and the Volta Region. It will feature traditional performances, indigenous cuisine, music, art exhibitions, and investment dialogues designed to promote regional pride and cross-cultural appreciation.

Organizers say the courtesy call marks the beginning of a series of strategic engagements with traditional authorities, government officials, and the private sector to ensure a well-coordinated and impactful celebration of Ewe identity within Ghana’s broader tourism calendar.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 13th December 2025, at the El-Walk Stadium in Accra
