Avenor Tutudoza 2026: Planning Committees Step Up Preparations Ahead of Grand Launch

Preparations are gathering momentum for the 2026 edition of the Avenor Tutudoza Festival, with the Central Planning Committee (CPC) stepping up engagements with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) ahead of the festival’s grand launch.
As part of efforts to ensure a successful and well-coordinated celebration, the CPC paid a working visit to the LOC at Avega to assess preparations and strengthen collaboration ahead of the launch.
The grand launch is at Avega-Agornu on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The CPC delegation was led by its Vice Chairman, Mr Abraham Ahiabu, and included other members of the committee from Akatsi.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the two committees to discuss key organisational arrangements, preparations and strategies required to deliver a successful launch and an impactful festival.
The LOC, led by its Chairman, Mr Tekpor Francis, assured their commitment to working closely with the CPC to ensure that the launch and subsequent festival activities are successfully executed.
The 2026 Avenor Tutudoza Festival is being celebrated under the theme: “Peace, Unity, and Security: Foundation for the Sustainable Development of Avenor.”
The theme places emphasis on peace, unity and security as essential pillars for advancing sustainable development and strengthening the social and economic well-being of the Avenor people.

Sponsorship Drive
Ahead of the festival, the Avenor Traditional Council has also opened a sponsorship drive, inviting corporate institutions, businesses, individuals and other stakeholders to support the 2026 celebration.
The Council is seeking partnerships to help deliver a successful festival while advancing the broader objectives of promoting peace, unity, community development and sustainable growth within Avenor.
The sponsorship appeal is expected to provide an opportunity for businesses, organisations and individuals to associate with the festival and contribute to initiatives that support the development and promotion of the Avenor traditional area.

The Central Planning Committee expressed appreciation to the LOC for the warm reception during its working visit and said it looked forward to a successful launch and an impactful Avenor Tutudoza 2026 Festival.
With the grand launch scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Avega in the Akatsi South Municipality, attention is now turning to the final preparations as organisers seek to deliver a celebration that will not only showcase the rich cultural heritage of Avenor people but also reinforce the festival’s message of peace, unity and security as a foundation for sustainable development.
The Avenor Tutudoza is an annual traditional and developmental festival celebrated by the Avenor people in the Volta Region to strengthen their culture and traditional heritage and to raise funds for developmental projects in the area. It is celebrated in November under the auspices of Togbui Dorglo Anumah VI, the paramount chief of Avenor
