Torgbui Tenuvi III, The Youth and Development Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area has announced a five-year Educational Development Plan aimed at expanding access to quality basic education and improving school infrastructure across the traditional area.
The initiative, launched with the blessing of Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, the President of the Aflao Traditional Council, seeks to strengthen educational infrastructure and promote human capital development through sustained investment in learning.
As part of the plan, Torgbui Tenuvi III announced that five new basic schools will be established in Apekotuime, Gakli, Wudoaba, Detokope, and Avoeme.
The project is expected to ease congestion in existing schools while bringing quality basic education closer to underserved communities.
Torgbui Tenuvi III in an exclusive engagement with Veritas News GH stated how important education is to their communities.
“Education remains the foundation of our future, and we must strategically invest in it to accelerate the development of our people.”

He further called for collective support towards the successful implementation of the plan, stressing that “Nation building is a shared responsibility between citizens and government,” while urging the government to continue fulfilling its obligations to the education sector.
In addition to the construction of the new schools, the plan includes the phased rehabilitation of existing schools across the municipality to improve learning conditions and enhance educational outcomes.
Torgbui Tenuvi III, known in private life as Felix Akonta Akakpo, has undertaken several benevolent initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents across the Aflao community and the wider Ketu South Municipality.
His interventions have cut across key areas including healthcare, education, and community development.
Among his notable contributions are the sponsorship of a district-wide mock examination for 2026 BECE candidates, infrastructure support for basic schools, and other initiatives geared towards enhancing social development within the municipality.
