Contrary to reports circulating on social media, no decision has yet been issued in the court case involving Thomas Partey and Canada’s immigration authorities.

Following hours of legal arguments, Justice Lafrenière concluded proceedings and reserved judgment, meaning the hearing has ended but a verdict is still pending.

The court examined issues including immigration disclosures, the threshold for urgent relief, potential harm to the player, and the reasonableness of actions taken by Canadian authorities.

Until the judge releases an official written ruling, any claims that Partey has won, lost, secured a visa, or been denied entry to Canada remain unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the Communications Director of the Ghana Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mr Fred Duhoe has stated that there has been no formal communication or update regarding the case as of 3:00 p.m. Ghana time.

“Any information concerning the case will be made public once it becomes available,” Mr Duhoe noted.

He further referenced comments by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who indicated on Monday June 15th that all diplomatic options are currently being explored.
